Jesus and the Sea
Mark 4:35–41 | In Mark 4:35–41, we read one of the most memorable stories about Jesus, the story of when Jesus stilled the raging sea. In this sermon, we do our best to enter into the boat with Jesus and his disciples as they cross the Sea of Galilee after an exhausting day. When the storm is threatening the lives of all on the boat, what do the disciples find Jesus doing? Jesus is asleep on a cushion! Even though they wake him and call out to him for help, what happens next is beyond anything they could have imagined.
