Psalm 23: God as Shepherd

In this first sermon of the year, we take time to examine one important picture of God that recurs throughout the Bible, the picture of God as Shepherd. Where does this picture of God come from? Where do we first see it in the Bible? What is the significance of calling God our Shepherd and of referring to ourselves as sheep? As you listen to this sermon, may it draw you ultimately to trust Jesus, the great Shepherd of the Sheep, who laid down his life for us and who promises to be with us to the end of the age.
