Affectionate Care for One Another

Miscellaneous

Various New Testament Texts | We live at a time where many are more “connected” with others than ever before, but where many feel less “cared for” than ever before. In this sermon, we consider a broader theme rather than simply one text, a theme discussed all over the New Testament and throughout our core church documents. Our focus in this first sermon of the year is on the theme of “affectionately caring for one another.” More specifically, what does the New Testament say about 1) Jesus’s “care” for the church, about 2) the pastors’ “care” for the church, and 3) about members “care” for one another? Throughout the sermon, we explore select Scriptures on each of these angles on affectionate care before concluding our study with reflections on the relevance of these texts to our lives in the year ahead.
