Close2 Thessalonians 1:1–12 (Part 2) | In this second sermon on 2 Thessalonians 1:1–12, we focus on verses 7–10 and what happens when Jesus comes. In this text, which is one of the most intense and startling texts in the New Testament, Paul lays out the two possible effects of the return of Jesus on a person. For those who do not know God through his Son Jesus, the outcome is to be banished forever away from the presence of the Lord. But for those who have responded rightly to the gospel of our Lord, the return of Jesus is the beginning of unending joy and eternal rest in the presence of Jesus.
