CALL TO WORSHIP | Psalm 33:1–3

English Standard Version

(1) Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. (2) Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! (3) Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

International Children’s Bible

Sing to the Lord, you who do what is right. Honest people should praise him. (2) Praise the Lord on the harp. Make music for him on the ten-stringed lyre. (3) Sing a new song to him. Play well and joyfully.

“All Praise to Him”

“See the Destined Day Arise”

“Jesus, Strong and Kind”

The RBC Kids have been working on this song in preparation for Easter. Lord-willing, they’ll get to sing it for us at one of our worship gatherings soon. It’s a great song for kids and for every child of God, young or old, who is holding fast to Jesus.

PRAYER

A key part of how God settles our hearts in times of anxiety is through prayer. In Philippians 4:6–7, we are told this by the apostle Paul.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

In response, we read this wonderful promise.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

During this time of prayer, . . .

1) First, spend some time just thanking the Lord for His many blessings, for His character, for His promises, and for what He is teaching us through these days of adversity.

2) Second, let’s also offer our requests to our Father in humility and confidence, trusting that He knows us, that He cares for us, and that He has the power to do even more than we ask or think.

“The Perfect Wisdom of Our God”

This song is not one that we’ve sung at RBC; however, it corresponds well with our series on Ecclesiastes and the Wisdom books of the Old Testament. Even if you don’t know the song yet, you can follow along with the lyrics displayed in the video.

BENEDICTION | Ephesians 3:16–21

English Standard Version

I pray (16) that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, (17) so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, (19) and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (20) Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, (21)to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

International Children’s Bible

(16) I ask the Father in his great glory to give you the power to be strong in spirit. He will give you that strength through his Spirit. (17) I pray that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. I pray that your life will be strong in love and be built on love. (18) And I pray that you and all God’s holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love. I pray that you can understand how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is. (19) Christ’s love is greater than any person can ever know. But I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with the fullness of God. (20) With God’s power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of. (21) To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever. Amen.
