CloseGalatians 3:1–6 | In Galatians 3:1, after nearly two chapters of rehearsing history, Paul turns his focus directly on the present situation in the churches of Galatia. “O foolish Galatians!” he says. “It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.” In this section, Paul brings his readers back to Christ crucified and asks a series of questions about their initial reception of God’s Spirit and about God’s continued work among them through the Spirit. Having begun by the Spirit, how are we to press on toward the finish line? By law and flesh, or by faith and the Spirit?
