CloseMark 5:1–20 | At the beginning of Mark 5, Jesus enters Gentile territory for the first time in Mark’s Gospel. As soon as Jesus steps foot on land, Jesus is confronted immediately by one of the most disturbed and most disturbing individuals in the entire Bible, a man fully under the control of demonic powers. Within a few hours, most people will be begging Jesus to leave the region—all except for one restored man who knew he owed Jesus his life.
