CloseActs 14 | Paul’s letter to the churches of Galatia is written not long after he planted these churches on his first missionary journey, a journey recorded by Luke in Acts 13–14. In this sermon on Acts 14, we walk with Paul as he ministers the gospel in the Galatian cities of Iconium, Lystra, and Derbe. As the gospel advances through Paul, conflict and opposition to his ministry increases sharply. Examining this text leads us to reflect on both the cost and the joy of following Jesus, both for those who minister the gospel and those who embrace the gospel message. This sermon and the previous sermon are intended to set the stage for our study of Paul’s letter to the Galatians.
