The Call to Discipleship
Mark 3:7–19 | In Mark 3:7–19, Mark begins to draw our attention more and more to the people around Jesus. Who are these people? Where are they coming from? What do they want to do with Jesus, and what does Jesus want to do with them? In this sermon, we focus specifically on Jesus’s call of the Twelve and his plan to make them what he wants them to become. As we consider this text together, we have to ask ourselves: what is the cost of discipleship? But as those who have also been called by Jesus to make followers of Jesus, we also need to ask: what does it cost to make a disciple?
