CloseMark 6:1–32 | In Mark 6:1–32, Marks tells three stories, one about Jesus, one about his twelve disciples, and one about John the Baptist. Running through all three is the theme of rejection. Particularly through the detailed account of the sick and gruesome murder of John the Baptist, Mark is preparing us not only for what lies ahead for Jesus in the Gospel of Mark, but also for what those who get behind Jesus can expect as his disciples.
