Close2 Thessalonians 3:6–18 | In 2 Thessalonians 3:3–5, Paul expresses his confidence in the Lord that the church, as a whole, would listen to what he said and would do what he commanded. That’s the norm: Christians love and obey Jesus. Yet, it must be admitted that all of us fail to obey the Lord Jesus like we ought. Christians don’t always obey their Lord; sometimes Christians simply won’t listen to what God says. When this happens, what is the church supposed to do? What do we do when our Christian brothers and sisters aren’t walking well or when they won’t listen to Jesus? In this sermon on 2 Thessalonians 3:6–18, our final sermon in this series on the Thessalonian Epistles, we examine Paul’s instructions about how to deal with disobedience in the family of God. This sermon challenges us to reexamine how we understand the church and our responsibility to other brothers and sisters in the family of God.
