STUDY THE BIBLE WITH US
What are we studying right now?
We want to be a church that is driven by the Scriptures: where the Bible is preached, taught, and discussed regularly in the corporate body; where that same Word is studied and discussed frequently in personal relationships and in the home; where the entire counsel of God is believed and upheld unashamedly; and where no other influence is more central to the lives, thinking, and practice of the church corporately and its members individually. By God’s grace, we work together toward this vision through the following Bible studies.
Sunday Worship Gatherings
Each of our elders is leading the church through a separate series, each one covering a book of the Bible. Currently, Pastor Bryan is preaching from The Gospel of Mark (started in September 2018). Pastor Phil, on the other hand, recently finished a series on 1 Peter and plans to start a new series in Joshua during the summer of 2019. Recordings of these sermons can be found on our Sermons page.
“Christianity Explored” Bible Study
What’s the best news you’ve ever heard? Was it surprising? Did it change the way you think? Or was it something you wanted to be true but didn’t dare hope? Christianity Explored is about the best news you can ever hear, providing an opportunity to think yourself and talk with others about the big questions of life. Over seven sessions in Mark’s Gospel, you’ll find out more about the life of the person at the heart of the Christian faith – Jesus Christ. The structure of each session is simple: a short Bible study, 15-20 video, and then a discussion based on the video.
For the current study, we are meeting in a St Louis Park home, and the final three dates for the study are below.
- April 15
- April 19
- May 3
We do this study regularly in Richfield and the surrounding communities. Check back later for information about the next time we go through it, or just contact us.
“Story of Scripture” Bible Study
In this Bible study, Pastor Bryan helps us trace the Bible’s unfolding story from Genesis (the first book) all the way to the last chapters of Revelation (the last book). The study is free, and resources for the study will be provided to all who attend. Everyone’s invited, and no prior Bible knowledge is needed. We meet monthly on a Sunday (see dates below) at Local Roots (817 E 66th St), starting a 2:30 p.m.
- March 17
- April 28
- May 26
- June 23
- July 28
Check back later for more dates!
“What Is the Gospel?” Bible Study
As we gather every other week for our Community Groups, we continue to share what we learned and applied from the previous Sunday’s sermon, but we are also discussing Greg Gilbert’s What Is the Gospel? We want to be a church saturated in the gospel; a church where its members know, trust, love, live worthy of, and proclaim the gospel.
